The Two Key Types

The main types of forklift tires to be aware of are cushion tires and pneumatic tires. Some forklifts are built by design to handle a certain tire type. On the other hand, some may come with choices that can be adjusted by the manufacturer. Popular brands, such as Toyota and Komatsu, sell forklift models of both types.

Cushion Tires

If the cargo you need carried by a forklift will be indoors, such as a warehouse or a manufacturing center, purchasing a forklift with cushion tires would be appropriate. They consist of solid rubber, and thus do not puncture or become deflated in the same manner as air-filled tires.
